Reflection on Stone Carving.

Things that i accomplished.
  • Using a Oamaru stone to sculpt.
  • Completed all the sculptures before display.
  • Using new tools on stone like chisel, cheese grater, rasp and mellet.
My favorite part.
My favorite part was honestly sculpting the stone  and while not sculpting doing something fun.

                                                    What was challenging for me.
  • Drawing the shape i want the stone.
  • Getting the shape that you you drawn like grating and sanding it.
What can we do better to improve stone sculpting.
Get more teachers to help us finish our work.
We could talk less and work more.

I really enjoyed Stone Sculpting and Mr. Mitchell learnt us new things to improve our stone sculpting.

Reflection of Cybersmart.

Term 3: We done Smart Footprint. Smart Footprint is where you search information about people.

Term 4 :We done research challenge where we have to google answers for questions that the teachers gave us.

My favorite thing about Cyber smart this year was that we blogged and learnt about blogging save.

Something i did not enjoy was the amount of time the teachers gave us.

Something my teacher did well is she explained in a way that everybody understands.

Something she can do better is give us some more time on the challenges they give.

Cybersmart this year was fun and i hope next year will be too.

How to improve your vocabulary.

How to improve your vocabulary.

1:Use New Words.Use a word immediately after you learn it.
2:Read Every Day. Once you're out of school, word drills and assigned reading become things of the past.
3:Learn Roots. Learn the roots of words, dive in deeper for information about that word.
4:Learn New Words Every Day.
5:Look up Words You Don't Know.

This is ways you can improve your vocabulary but the main key is patience, i know because i struggled to improve my vocabulary but this steps actually helped me and maybe it will help you, so try it out.

Dear Whaea Raewyn

I am interested in applying for the teacher job that has been advertised on the television and in the newspaper.I worked for Miss Alpers as a Kete teacher and a second hand teacher if she needed  me I was there.I would honoured to work for you.

As you can see from my cv,I have done marketing that is nothing close to teaching. I have been teaching a year 3 class before with another teacher but the school closed down and I would like to be a primary teacher again. I have been teaching for 5 years at HPS till the school closed then went to marketing for 5 months and would like to continue being a teacher again.I want to take a step forward and teach alone.

I would very much like a opportunity to meet with you to discuss the whole teacher story. Thank you for reading my application.

Yours sincerely

Mika G

fun with fractions

this week we have learnt about fractions. Fractions is When a whole is divided into equal pieces, if fewer equal pieces are needed to make up the whole, then each piece must be larger. When two positive positive fractions have the same numerator, they represent the same number of parts, but in the fraction with the smaller denominator, the parts are larger.

IF the number under the line is smaller than the number above the line you times it to get the answer.
If the number is smaller you divide it to get the answer.

Marine biology

Information about dolphins :

Small dolphins eat fishes like herring, cod or mackerel.

Larger dolphins like killer whales eat marine mammals like seals or sea lions and sometimes even turtles.

Dolphins catch fish by slapping their tail o n the ground to beat up sand around the fish to make a "wall"and fish don't  go trough they jump  over and the dolphins wait around the"wall" and catch the fish.

Information about different types of dolphins:
A common Bottlenose
A killer whale

Piggy Sue

Piggy Sue

I think all the animals should have the right to run in the wild and not be treated the way humans want to treat them.

Piggy Sue is about a pig who got found in the middle  of the road ,the man tried to find its owner but could not and finally found it he saw a sign saying free range pork and gave a empty box to the farmer and kept the piggy without permission.

I don't think it's fair of the man to keep the Piggy because it's her pig and he found what he want and she lost what was hers. I also think it's unfair for the people to eat the animals.

Pascal's Triangle - Mika

For maths we tried the pascal's triangle, I will show you what I finished and how I finished plus some patterns I found.
It goes from the second row down and you would find the answer.
The rows double by the side for example 1+1=2 +2=4
